| | I don't know that I can say enough about Florence. This was my city. I felt immediately relaxed after the chaos that was Rome. It was small enough to be intimate but not suffocating. It felt very open and inviting. It was full of a mix of people from all over the world (citizens, travelers, students) who were all just happy to be there mingling amongst each other.
My sister and I met up with my friend Kirsten who was there studying Italian. Something tells me we were a distraction because we saw her every day we were in town. Most of those meetings were held in various pubs, mind you, and she seriously helped mix things up for our party of two with some new conversation. |
| | This was the taste of Italy I was looking for. We found architecture, gardens, night life, old and new parts of the city. We met people, had drinks, learned some history, took it all in and still wanted more. It felt like a place where people meet. A place where it doesn't matter where you're from so long as you are there and enjoying yourself and one another. |
