In Pisa the masses swarm to Campo dei Miracoli where you'll find three very large attractions: the tower, the cathedral, and the bapistry. No one tells you that right next to the infamous leaning tower is this big beautiful Cathedral. It was actually quite amazing and made my day here worthwhile.

Given the choice at the time I would have loved to see Siena, Verona, Venice, you name it. But it was out of my hands. However, I can honestly say this square is very beautiful. It is clean and quiet despite the number of tourists that must trudge through daily. It seems odd that, with so many people coming through, Pisa isn't a much bigger place.

Actually all of Pisa seemed pretty laid back. I'm surprised there weren't more people lounging on the grass as it was a holiday. I think the best itinerary would be to grab some lunch, see the sights, save the Cathedral for last, and get a gelato on your way out.
