| | Streets paved with...snow? I was only in Copenhagen for a day, flying there on my way to stay with a friend in Malmö, so I had to make the most of the time that I had. It was snowing when I arrived, a couple of days before New Year, and it only got heavier and deeper!
There are some beautiful little streets in Copenhagen, which make walking around a delight. The National Museum is well worth a visit, with the Gundestrup Cauldron being a highlight for me. |
The Little Mermaid It's a fair walk from the centre of town, especially plowing through the six inches of snow(!), but it's worth it to see this beautiful statue of the character from one of Andersen's most beloved stories. | | |
| | Tivoli Tivoli Gardens is a famous amusement park in Copenhagen, and is beautiful in it's Christmas adornments - thousands of lights, many seeming to have replaced the leaves of the trees they are strung in. There are market stalls selling Glögg, food, and knick-knacks; and fairground rides if you're brave enough. Walking around it in the snow, it really does seem to be a winter wonderland. |
