Pokhara is Nepal's third largest city, and is beautifully situated between Phewa Tal (lake) to the south and the start of the Annapurna range of mountains to the north. It is possible to see three 8000-ers (mountains over 8000m or 26,247 ft, of which there are only 14 on earth!), including Annapurna itself, which was the first one to be climbed. However, at a mere 6,993m, it is Machhapuchhre, the Fishtail, which most catches the attention, although its famous twin peaks can't both be seen from Pokhara.
- Pros:Beautiful setting, and very relaxing
- Cons:Very touristy in Lakeside
