Another New York page I was in New York last year, it was the first destination I put on my map and yet I never wrote anything in it.
Why?
I guess it is because the best parts were not doing anything specific: walking the streets, eating lunch in one of the parks, that sort of thing. things that leave you with an impression of the city, but are hard to describe, almost impossible to write a tip. Yet pretty unforgetable.
But I have built up my courage: this is going up! |
What I did when I got there I was able to spend a weekend in NYC - very little time, but all I had.
What would I do in so little time? I could rush around from museum to museum, from site to site. I listed everything I wanted: way too long for two short days!
Then I realised that what is great about NYC is the city itself: its rythms, people and how everything blends together. I was finally able to put together my itinerary: no museums (my heart was broken, but if I walked in the Met, I would not leave), no Statue of Liberty. Instead, I walked as much as I could, through the different parts of town, trying to understand the flavour of each.
People watching, small local restaurants, getting lost and finding an unexpected place: those were my objectives. |
