"Bahia de Kino" Bahía Kino by StrawBerriRose

We were not ready to leave Mexico yet when heading back to Canada so diverted and went to Kino Bay. (Thats the new part) The village of Bahia de Kino is just that. A small fishing village with everyone going about their business. March is not their high tourist season. The road was being worked on from Hermisillo junction. That is an adventure in itself across the desert. We travel with a truck pulling 17 foot trailer. needed our four wheel drive at times. Stayed in trailer park right on the ocean. Lovely. Saw Dolphins playing in the ocean right out our window. Did a bit of touring around. After our grandaughter fed the gulls, we saw dolphins from this very spot.

Bay to the North

We went up where they were building these grand homes. The area there is rocky. Where small mountains meet the sea. There are a lot of ecological tours of the islands and ocean from Kino Bay People have homes on the ocean here like cottages. Some very simple, and some very grand ones being built.

Fishing Boats

Drove around and shopped in the village. There are no ATM's and no banks. The terrain in the area is most interesting. Desert, Mountains, Jungle like and wetlands from the sea. The village is adjusting and putting in new shops along highway to accomodate tourists. Meanwhile the fishermen go about their business as usual and the oysters were great.

• Pros:Not as Touristy as Some , As you need vehicle to get there
• Cons:The road going in, though it should be done.
• In a nutshell:Very nice ex pat community.
