"Kaštel Sućurac - a very short intro." Kastel Sucurac by STress021

Among seven of Kaštela (i.e. Castles), Sućurac is the oldest and the closest to regional center, Split. Mentioned in 1358. for the first time, Sućurac is the pioneer in local tourism. That's because the first mention is about archbishop's cottage. A hundred years later, Turks have come. And the cottage has become a fortress. Then, Turks have gone. But the village remained. And became one of the most industrialized croatian areas, with powerful chemical industry. Today, Sućurac still has it's factories. But today we put down far more on the ecology and we are doing our best to take the goal - bringing Sućurac back to the leading position in tourism.
