Wilderness Preserved

Rocky Mountain Nataional Park has been set aside from developers for everyone to enjoy. When you visit the park you will see many types of animals wandering in the valleys, many different kinds of wildflowers, and the peaks that have been carved by ancient glaciers.
Hikers will find numerous trails of all abilities, the park rangers will have maps of all trails. There are many picnicing sites and also campers will find plenty of places for camping.
If you come to visit the park you must have at least two days, but it would be better to have three.
I recommend going up over the Trails Ridge Road so that you can enjoy the view from 12,000 feet above sea level.
Please view my "things to do" pages, and they will show you the wildlife and give you an idea of this great outdoor preserve.

View From The Top

This photo is from the road that is called the Trail Ridge Road. 12,000 feet above sea level where the trees cannot grow, you may experience a little light headedness due to lack of oxygen. People with heart trouble should probably not consider this road. There is plenty to see down in the valley at 8500/9,000 feet.
This shot was taken on June 3 and there was still snow as you can see. View my things to do page to see the view down into the valley.

Stupid question perhaps, but why can't you leave food in the car? Can bears ruin your car when they smell there is food in it?

Wow! Either you had a good zoom on your camera or they really trusted you to get that close up! I can't believe they didn't run away!!

Nice writing and images for Rocky Mountain National Park. I've never been there but with wildlife like that I sure will consider a trip.
