Take a break from the city life This place is off the beaten path of regular tourism. If you are driving between Los Angeles and San Francisco this is a good place to stop and take in the salt air, walk on the beach, search the tidepools, surf, swim and enjoy the sun. For more info on Pismo, see my comments on off the beaten path. Expect to see hundreds of pelikans. They put on a fascinating show when they find a school of fish and begin diving for them. Pismo Beach is north of Santa Barbara on highway 101. The north side of town has the more expensive motels. |

Carmanah Wed May 23, 2007 03:58 UTC I remember visiting Pismo Beach when I was young. We stayed in San Luis Obispo and drove down for the day. It's a beautiful part of California. |
