bladed weaponry
You will find some interesting exhibits on Da Vinci, mainly of his weapon machines that he invented. There are small replicas of them and you can imagine how effective they would be if used in battle. There are also drawing showing his thoughts and inventions.
Included in this museum are exhibits showing how fake paintings are discovered and how they detect fradulent works of art.
I especially was surprised by a small musical instrument exhibition with trombones, bartitones, a tuba and french horns that they had on display.
There is also a corridor said to be used as a back door of the Sforza Castle underground.
Do not confuse this museum with another one with a similar name "technology".

The Duomo is a pearl of a cathedral taking hundreds of years to finish. Italy has so many huge cathedrals and this is one of the best. If you like getting up high without hiking up all those stairs, this is the place for you. There is an elevator that does most of the work, there is only a short, steep stairway at the end. Of course you have to pay a few euros for the service, but it is worth it to get up there without the exertion if you are older.
The roof has a safe walk way 3/4 of the way around which offers to you a terrific panorama of the city landscape. You will be also able to view the gargoyles and the architecture up close. When you see the photos below, you will understand why this experience is not to be missed. I wish for you a blue sky when you visit.

Now one gets in after dark
You will enjoy visiting this castle structure, a rebuilt model of the Sforza Castle. The inside area is huge and offers many photo opportunities. There are museums in several different parts and a really nice museum shop.
You really get a feel for the power of the ruler and when you know some of Da Vinci history you begin to see better how it fits with the times. Knowing how Da Vinci was supported by this ruler and what Sforza required of him helps you understand the result of Da Vinci's work. I would suggest a visit to a museum called Museo d'Arte e Scienza which has some nice exhibits on Da Vinci. This museum is located very near the castle.
Below are some photos to show you the castle.
