"A peachful island in Mediterranean Sea" Malta by infodigger

Malta was chosen as a close destination (from Greece) for a weekend holiday. I decided to go there with my girlfriend, one week before easter. We stayed there for 3 nights. The holiday package we ordered had costed about 400 euros per person including all airline taxes, hotel and excursions.
The first thing that everyone notices when being in Malta is the special stone that almost all houses are built of. It's a yellow/white stone, quite beatiful with a very traditional style. Another thing that you notice is the car that move at the opposite direction as used in the rest of Europe (right-handed).
The people in Malta are very friendly. It's an island with all-year tourism. Communication in English is very easy. The currency is Maltese lires but the country will be soon joining the euro country union. Prices are very cheap considering other European countries.
- Pros:nice weekend escape for most europe, peaceful and safe vacations, nice people, cheap prices, perfect for diving
- Cons:can be very hot during summer, not very good beaches
- In a nutshell:A great weekend escape for most Europe countries!

Thanks for dropping by my Galapagos pages ... and believe me, we do run out of gas here, but at least we are not falling off the island .... yet ;-)
lovely pics and great tips
It has always been my dream, to go there one day. I think that Malta is beautiful.
I stayed in the hotel opposite The Baystreet Hotel. It's in a great location for getting around Malta - I can see from your ID picture that it was taken on the nearby beach! Hope to see more of your Malta info soon! Marion.
