The P. Ramlee House is a museum situated along Jalan P. Ramlee (formerly Caunterhall Road) in Penang, Malaysia. The building is a restored wooden house that commemorates the late P. Ramlee, Malaysia's foremost singer, actor, composer, and director. Originally built in 1926 by his father and uncle, the house had previously undergone successive repairs before being taken over by the National Archives as an extension of its P. Ramlee Memorial project in Kuala Lumpur. Items on display at the house include his life history, personal memorabilia related to his life in Penang, and items belonging to his family. I had a good encounter here with P Ramlee's friend who is also the care taker of this house. It's a great honored to meet him in person and listen to his story all about P Ramlee from his boyhood until before he passed away. I can't snap any picture inside the house as it is not allowed to take picture while we are in the house.

Before I visited the snake temple, I always thought that the snake inside here are those non-venomous tree snake but I was wrong. The snake here are the venomous green viper. It give me chilled for a while. But the resident of this temple mentioned that the venom of these snakes has been taken out and the snake will not bite as the snakes 'respect' the temple itself. During my visit, there's also a snake exhibition taken place inside this snake temple. With RM2.00 cover charge, it's a worth visit. You may experiencing holding the Malaysian Batik Boa called 'big momma'. She's quite big indeed. And the guide are really friendly. Watch out for the King Cobra. The one available here in is very fierce and aggressive. Nevertheless, these are some quote of the snake temple as available in Wikipedia :- The Snake Temple is situated in Sungai Kluang, Bayan Lepas, Penang, Malaysia and is perhaps the only temple of its kind in the world. The temple is filled with the smoke of burning incense and a variety of pit vipers. The vipers are believed to be rendered harmless by the sacred smoke, but as a safety precaution, the snakes have also been de-venomed but still have their fangs intact, visitors are warned against picking up the reptiles and placing them on their bodies for taking pictures. Local devotees believe that the temple's snake population has come there of its own accord. The temple was built circa 1850 in memory of Chor Soo Kong, by a Buddhist monk who moved to Penang. Chor Soo Kong was born with the Tan surname in China during the Song Dynasty (960-1279).

The setup is so beautiful and cooling as it is situated under the tropical rain forest trees. The guide here are very knowledgeable and friendly. For me, it is a must place to visit and I did enjoy my visit here. Do not forget to try the nutmeg juice freshly made here in the cafe and for foreigner, this is the place for you to see a species of tree claimed to be the "Malaysian Viagra", the 'Tongkat Ali' tree. You can also buy lot of spices here and I bought myself a bottle of fresh cinnamon oil.

Penang Hill is also a hot tourist place in Penang. Situated about 6 kilometer from Georgetown, the highest peak here is 2,450 ft above sea level. One can take the famous Penang Hill's Cable Car to go to the top of Penang Hill just to buy the only RM4.00 ticket. During the cable car ride, you enjoy the view of the rain forest. The cable car speed is quite slow, but I guess it is necessary also as the ride will take us along a very stiff passage. To go up and down, one need to take 2 cable car ride with a middle pit stop to exchange car. Once reaches the top, the environment is so cooling and beautiful as you can view Penang from the top of the hill. Some souvenir shops is also here on top of this hill, if you wanted to buy souvenir, PLEASE BUY ON THE TOP OF THE HILL NOT AT THE BOTTOM as the price on the top is much more cheaper that one in the bottom. The freshness of the air on the top is really good and its a perfect getaway from the city environment. There is a mosque, Hindu Temple and a church on top of the hill.

KOMTAR: Tallest Building in Penang

KOMTAR is a short name for Kompleks Tun Abdul Razak and it is the tallest building here in Penang with 65 storeys high. Although KOMTAR is not among the most tallest building in the world, but visiting the roof-top of this building surely a great memory for one to experience. Here in KOMTAR you can either go to the inside watch-out storey or the roof top to have a bird eyes view of Penang. During my recent visit, I wrote an official letter to KOMTAR Management asking for levi to bring in my group to visit KOMTAR and we got it free without any charges. And surprisingly, we had been brought up to the roof-top which is where the helipad is. Its surely a great experience to just walk along the top railing of KOMTAR. It is very windy and it is a perfect spot to snap Penang's landscaping picture.
