Tomyam is a Thai spicy soup that is so popular here in Malaysia. This restaurant is a very established and well known restaurant of its tomyam, Thai and local food. Its just moved from Ayer Keroh to Bukit Beruang and this new restaurant being well build on a man made pond. As we enjoy our meals, we can also watch varieties of freshwater fishes swimming in the pond and of course the regular customer here will always wait for the Arapaima Gigas to emerge.
The foods? No doubt for me the taste are delicious. This restaurant serves local, Thai and even western food on the menu.
I always dine here and even had the opportunity to bring 2 VTer to here during their visit in Melaka. (VT Id chiabh & Idahayat)
The only improvement that this restaurant need to buck-up is their timing of preparing the food. Sometimes I think that the chef took quite of time to prepare customers order. Maybe their motto is 'let it be late as long as it won't jeapordizing the taste'.
So, if you happens to be here and want to taste good Thai & local food especially the Tomyam, please visit this restaurant. Its open daily from 11am to 2am.
Favorite Dish: The Tomyam of course.

Shakeys Pizza Outlet in Mahkota Parade Mall
In Melaka, there are few pizza outlets that operates adopting to the fast food concept. The major pizza outlet here is Pizza Hut and Shakey's Pizza.
As for myself, I rated Shakeys is better than Pizza Hut but it is all depend on individual taste and expectation. Nevertheless, overall I prefer the taste of Dominos Pizza but the outlet is not available here in Melaka.
There are 2 major outlets of Shakeys here in Melaka. 1 is situated inside Mahkota Parade Mall and another 1 is inside the TESCO Hypermarket.
This tip is for those traveller that really miss eating pizza and wanted to bring family for a nice simple delicious meal.

Everytime if I happens to go to Kluang (a district in state of Johor, Malaysia), I will surely will not miss to visit the Kluang railway station. Theres a small setup restaurant here which is very famous for its coffee and toast bread. Its been known as Kopi Kluang Cafe.
Today, this small coffee shop has open many branches and one of it is here in Melaka. Situated inside TESCO Hypermarket, the outlet is very much well in setup compared to its origin in Kluang.
Here in TESCO, Kopi Kluang cafe offers many dishes for customer. Lots of waiter and waiteress hired by the outlet making the quality of the service is top rating.
The setup theme of this restaurant is of course Kluang Railway Station. The owner try to adopt as much as possible the environment of a railway station and its a successful effort even.
If you are happens to be in TESCO Melaka, do not miss this oppurtunity to taste the home grinded coffee specially prepared and originated from Kluang itself.
Favorite Dish: My favourite dishes :-
1) Coffee
2) Toasted bread
3) Half boiled egg
3) Nasi Lemak
(rice cooks with coconut milk and served with chilli gravy, anchovies, cucumber + fried chicken )

The Indah Sayang Restaurant
There are many Nyonya restaurant throughout Melaka. Just a quick information, when chinesse first came to Melaka for about 600 years ago, some of them got married with the local malay. Their generation then being called Baba (Male) and Nyonya (Female). They are very good in cooking and speak fluent Malay language.
Okay, this restaurant situated along the main road of Melaka Raya. Among many Nyonya restaurants, this restaurant appear to be very small in their setup. It is a family business, so cooking taste very delicious like a home cooked meal.
The inner setup is a bit small, tables & chairs being layed out nicely and what makes this restaurant unique is, they also are having their own personal collection of antique being displayed as their theme. Its air conditioned.
The owner cums the one who will serve you and take your order is an elder-man. Very friendly but we need speak up a bit during making our request to him to make him hear right at the first time. Nevertheless, he is very kind and love to share stories about antique that being displayed here in his restaurant.
The price for dishes are acceptable for a medium setup Baba & Nyonya restaurant. The last time I visited this place, it cost us RM230.00 for 10 pax. Menu that we had were Fish Head, Prawns, Squids (Fritter & Chilli Dish), a vegetable, chicken, eggs & of course the 'Cendol'. Quite okay right for a price per person?
They accept Amex & Diners even.
Favorite Dish: Many dishes in the menu related to Baba & Nyonya, but the most that got my attention is the Fish Head Curry (Baba & Nyonya Special Grind Curry) and also the Squid Fritter. Another one unique menu to try is the Fish 'Otak - Otak'. To wrap up the main course, please try the 'Cendol Gula Melaka' as your dessert.

The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf Logo
Having more than 40 outlets throughout Malaysia, this Coffeehouse chain is the top on my list in its category. There are 2 Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf branches in Melaka (Mahkota Parade & Jaya Jusco). The setup of each outlet is simple, creative & inviting. Offering lots of coffee related baverages such as Espresso, Macchiato, Cappuccino, Cafe/Mocha/Vanilla/Caramel Latte, Brewed Coffees etc. Various tea based baverages also being offered, some are Classic Line Tea (Black, Green, Oolong etc.), Gold Line Rare Teas, Tea Latte such as Chai, Double Vanilla Ceylon, English Breakfast, Moroccan Mint etc.
They are also offering choices of world bean coffee and tea leaf. To name some errmm Coffee - Kenya, Brazil Cerrado, Colombia, Papua, Sumatra, Costa Rican, Jamaican Blue Mountain etc. For tea leaf - Estate Darjeeling, Oolong, Ceylon, Genmaicha Green, Moroccan, Earl Grey, the rare Farmosa Oolong & Fragrant Night Jasmine etc.
Beside Tea & Coffee, they do have other baverages. They also selling light dishes such as sandwiches, salads, pasta & breakfast sets.
Wi-Fi environment in the outlet and staff are friendly but in a busy days such as the weekends, they might seriously put the total attention to the preparing & getting order.
Favorite Dish: My favourite is the Ice Blended, to be specific Black Forest Ice Blended Mocha with Cream. Personally, comparing to Starbucks which is just next door, I prefer the Coffee Beans & Tea Leaf Ice Blended because the taste of coffee is more richer.

Welcome To Johnny's Restaurant
First visited Johnny's Restaurant in late 90's during my stayed in Kuala Lumpur whereby their first branch situated in Bukit Bintang Plaza. Once tasted their steamboat, I got hooked on it. Luckily, their business grow very fast and opened up a branch here in Melaka which is in the Jaya Jusco Mall, Ayer Keroh. Eating Steamboat at Johny's is my monthly occassion since its opened in Melaka. The restaurant setup is very confortable, air-conditioned and friendly with professional attitude staff. Good location (inside Jaya Jusco). I highly recommend this restaurant.
Favorite Dish: The Steamboat for sure and what most tasteful is the special sauce that only available at Johnny's. Lots of choices to goes along with the steamboat, all Thai style dishes. Menus for steamboat are varieties such as chiken fillet, fishballs, mushrooms, squid, tofu, meatballs, vegetables, oyster, clams etc. Their water chestnuts dessert also taste very good.

Nasi Ayam Special Restaurant Lorong Pandan
This restaurant is a well known restaurant for a chicken rice malay style. I think we can catagories this chicken rice here in Malaysia to 4 main categories that represent 3 major races in Malaysia plus the 'mamak' chicken rice. The owner now is having 2 branches and i think it will expand to many more branches as the number of customers keep increasing. One is situated in Jalan Bachang (a bit difficult to park your car as it is closely next to the main road) and another branch is at Jalan Lorong Pandan. Staff are friendly and neatly in uniform. Place is clean and good arrangement of table.
Chicken Rice offered :- i) Normal Chicken Rice at RM3.00 ii)Special Chicken Rice at RM5.00. The only different between this two meals is the Special Chicken Rice comes with more potion of chicken and rice, kinda like an XL size of chicken rice. Taste is so superb and the sauce (chilli) that goes along with this rice is unique with its own identity taste. I notice that they mix this sauce with soup/chicken stock.
They also are offering varieties of local dishes, satay and the famous 'Otak - Otak Kempas'.
Favorite Dish: Special Chicken Rice, the potion comes with this menu is just right for an adult. Tasteful sauce and soup. They even pour 2 type of oil during preparation, can't figure what oil, sesame + fish oil maybe on top of the chicken & salads that makes this dish taste delicious.

The location of this cafe is very strategic and thats make it as one of the favourite cafe especially for tourist from the west. Situated in the heart of the famous Melaka Jonker Street. It's concept is like a bar, serving basic western dishes and variety of drinks. Also need to mentioned that it is Wi-Fi friendly for those traveller that wanna use Wi-Fi technology to access the NET. I recently noticed that they accept all major credit card and diners club card as well.

The Vazhai Elai
This restaurant being setup in an average ways. Very clean with great service. The staff here are very friendly. Most importantly, why I am giving this restaurant a high rating because of its food. The traditional taste of Indian food offered here is superb. Few choices of curry dishes taste really good. These curry dishes goes well with rice or even the Tossei/Chapati/'Roti Canai'. The seating being neatly arranged in this small space area but they do have a special air-condition room. As for myself, I regularly had my meal here with my Indian friends as I l really love the tossei. I highly recommend this restaurant for those who like Indian dishes and also who ever wanted to taste a really good tossei. I also noticed that this restaurant has been officially opened by one the well known Malaysian Minister.
Favorite Dish: The most special and delicious dish here that I like the most is the tossei. A basic tossei with Coconut based 'Chutney' make this place so special for me.
