There are two things people think of when visiting Copenhagen: Little Mermaid and Hans Christian Andersen. We grew up reading about fairy tales and now you can pay homage. There is a statue of the little mermaid as well as a few of H.C. Andersen and a major street named after him. However, Copenhagen (or as you probably see around town: København in Danish) offers much more than that. It is a beautiful city but very cold most of the year. I went there end of March and there was still ice forming on cars' windshields. Despite the cold, I enjoyed the trip. The Danes are absolutely friendly, warm and very open-minded people. They also have a good command of the English language so going around town and asking for information is not a problem. |
