I was expecting to see Clark Kent!!! |
10 Magical Moments
Below is a brief list of our 10 memories that will last a lifetime
1. Waking up with my girlfriend on our first night and looking out our window to see the Empire State Building in all its glory,
2. The whole feel of the place when walking around and feeling so small compared to all the great buildings towering above us
3. When i first hailed a yellow New York cab, it felt great
4. Going to Central Park, it was so cold yet the ground was covered in snow. It felt as though me ang my girlfriend were the only people in the park, it had such a magical feel to it, although there were still guys out jogging! Crazy!!
5. A trip to the top of The Empire State Building was a must, the views are amazing and you do literally feel on top of the world, its just a shame it was a little foggy when we went.
6. The island tour day and night was a wonderful experience. Although the night time trip was freezing we were warmed up by seeing the Statue of Liberty for the first time, all lit up and looking spectacular. It was also memorable seeing the skyline from a boat at night, all the lights twinkling.
The dat cruise was nice and covered the whole island, a little warmer and very impressive
7. Ground Zero was very humbling if thats the right word and it made you realise the devestation caused by the awful attacks. That was a strange experience yet the Twin Towers must have looked enormous pre 9/11/
hopefuly we can go back when the freedom tower is completed
8. F.A.O Schwartz. What a fabulous toy store. We were in there for hours and it was great to see the giant piano used in the film Big. We spent a small fortune in there!!
9. The New York Sound! its strange but NY has a distinctive sound, waking up to hearing horns beeping and distant sirens was a joy to listen to. Just like the movies
10. This one was a bit special in a silly way. I loved the film Superman as a kid and always remember the big globe in the Daily Planet building (The Daily News in real life) So when my girlfriend said the building was next door to our hotel we went in and there it was, the big globe from Superman the movie. All those childhood memories!!!!
These are only a few great memories, along with seeing the vibrant sights of Time Square and Macy's, Rockafella Centre, Grand Central etc etc
NY, a real life movie set!
