Mildenhall is not exactly a hot spot destination. It is a rural hole. Though the town may be fine for the natives who live in it, there is not much to offer visitors. If you must stop here don't expect much. You may run into a few Americans as there are two US Air Force bases very near by. The most interesting things the town holds are it's church (which may be worth snapping a quick photo of) and the odd town monument, a stunted gazebo type structure. It is floodlit at night and stands on the high street, yet no one can seem to explain it's signifigance. My advice would be to keep driving, more interesting places are not far off. |

Are you American? | grlygrl13 Sun Feb 17, 2008 14:50 UTC I was stationed at Mildenhall for six years - and at that time there was a plaque at the gazebo in the town center that explained what it was all about. I can't remember the details, it was something about horses long ago. Go look for the plaque. |
