The City of Fountains

There are about 160 fountains in Kansas City. It ranks second in the world in number of fountains erected in a city....second to Rome, Italy. The first fountains in KC were practical, used for horses and dogs to drink out of. The first fountain was built in 1904. Some of the statues inside the fountains are 300 years old.

The Plaza Lights

288,000 bulbs light up the city during the holiday season as the 15 block shopping area dons Christmas lights.

Horse Carriages

The Plaza area has a troop of horse drawn carriages to take you around the area. There's even one lit up and shaped like Cinderella's carriage.
