Sometimes you have to stop and smell the roses.... The international Rose Garden in Portland is a beautiful sanctuary for these lush flowers. I visited in October, and the blooms were still going strong.
There is no fee to visit the gardens, an it is a wonderful mixture of horticulter, architecture, and beautiful views of the city and Mt. Hood. If you only have a few hours, and it is a lovely day, son't miss this. It is a drive up a wining hill, through a beautiful neighborhood. I had no problems finding a place to park, and it was a terrific way to wind up a long business trip. |
