Being a Red Sox fan, I love baseball. The Hall of Fame is a great weekend trip to take. It is located about 1 hour southwest of Albany NY. It is int he Middle of NOWHERE, but the town is a gem of late 19th century architecture. It is located on one of the Finger Lakes, and is very pictureque. There are many hotels and local inns to stay at. The town is full of baseball souvenir shops and Red sox fans. On my last trip, there were female baseball players from the 1940's signing autographs. Very cool if you are into that!
The Hall of Fame has recently been expanded, and the whole place is fantastic. It really is amazing to walk through the hall and see the plaques. I also liked how the museum places baseball in context with american history.
I recommend the Hall of Fame for all baseball fans. |
