Restaurant Name: Seafood Market and Restaurant
The Seafood Market and Restaurant is a large destination spot in Bangkok. The main dining room seats 1500 people. There are private dinign rooms upstairs. I was lucky enough to enjoy this restaurant with my Thai friends. We were escorted upstairs to our private dining room, and then began the adventure of selecting our seafood from the display tanks. There were fish of all types, and most were still swimming! After we made our selections, my Thai friend directed how each entree should be prepared. After 10 minutes or so, the dishes began arriving to our table, where we ate family style, in the Thai tradition. There were 7 of us eating, and we had 7 servers. The service was incredible. The dishes ranged from traditional Tom Yun Kung Soup, to Tiger Prawns in Butter (DELICIOUS!), whitefish, and scallops. Everyhting was immaculately prepared. It was an unforgettable meal!
Favorite Dish: The Tiger Prawns were so delicious. they had a delicate flavor, and melted in your mouth.

Restaurant Name: Le Dalat Indochine
This is an elegant restaurant, located on Soi 23, in Bangkok. It is housed in a building from the 1950's, and is decorated in shaades of blue and white. The decor is understated, but lovely. The food is very much derived from the French indochina era, with delicate sauces and flavors. The soup was very good, very light, almost a consomme. None of of the food was overly spicy. The wine menu was extensive, and the prices seemed reasonable. All of the ordering was done by a business partner, so what I remember most is the atmosphere and the service. (The thrilling first ride I had in the front seat of a right hand drive car to get to the restaurant is a story for another day!!) This was an elegant place to have a business dinner, and a refreshing change from the sometimes overpowering Thai food.
