moi at the real coffee bar
Was curious about this place since it has been highly recommended here in VT and in Lonely Planet. The place is a bit hole in the wall - you might miss it if you're not looking for it. The place is very homey, loads of reading (magazine) materials, some books on the shelf as well. Sit on the bar and look up, one of their wall is pappered with pictures and postcards from all over!
Favorite Dish: Loved their pesto omelette (130 pesos) - been trying to duplicate this since I got home. Breakfast fare comes with bottomless coffee or tea. Their coffee is brewed, so it was a bit too strong for me, but the staff gave me extra fresh milk to make it more creamy :) The tuna melt sandwich which was also highly recommended here was a bit too overrated for me. Their tunamelt tasted like the ones I do at home (canned tuna, plus mayo and spices).

Oil based pasta
In my opinion, Aria is one of the best restaurants in the island!
Favorite Dish: I've tried Oglio(?) and Carbonarra pasta. Their oil based pasta was a bit too spicy for my taste, but I think it's my fault since I forgot to request a mild chili. Their carbonarra is great (much to my dismay, better than my speciality carbonarra hahaah). Their aria pasta is great - with parma ham and mozzarella.
Address: D'Mall Station 2
Comparison: about average
Directions: Right along the beach front/front of D'Mall
Price: US$11-20

moi with the Cyma menu
This is the 2nd time I've tried Greek food (not sure if gyros are greek?). The restaurant is a bit out of the way - you really can't see it immediately as there are no signs that are outstanding.
Favorite Dish: We ordered lamb chops (my first time) about 500+ - the meat sa juicy, although some parts are a bit hard to chew. The appetizer (forgot what it's called) is about 300+. We also ordered their bottomless iced tea. The cook slipped that their formula is just lipton black tea bags + calamansi + their secret ingredient vanilla. The bottomless iced tea was great since we ate here right after our talipapa shopping.
Address: D'Mall Station 2
Comparison: more expensive than average
Directions: Right beside a dive shop, along the row/vicinity of Mongkok Dimsum Restaurant and behind the tacky ferris wheel
Price: US$21-30

Shrimp in coco cream
It's in a beachfront location, from the outside it looks like a "carinderia" or a native eatery. But their seafood is fresh.
Favorite Dish: I ordered Shrimp in Coco Cream (shrimp is my favorite and I'm bicolana so I love coco cream based food). About 180+. Then my cousin also ordered a shirmp dish (Camaron) which is about the same price. For appetizer, we ordered Calamares (Squid). Drinks are a bit expensive - about 50 pesos for a 12 oz of Coke.
Address: Boat Station 2
Comparison: less expensive than average
Directions: Near D'Mall and Internet Station 168

The best best best mango milkshake i've ever had. My mom was so curious on how they create their shake she ended up spying at their kitchen! :) Highly recommended by friends as was the Choco-Peanut-Banana combination but I found it too common for my taste - it tasted a lot like one of my diet supplement drinks! Loved their Mango (Plain) Shake and Avocado Milk as well.
Favorite Dish: Mango Milk Shake - very fresh and ripe mango flavor, they don't seem to be skimpy on the fruit and milk
Address: Boat Station 1, Boracay Island
Comparison: least expensive
Price: less than US$10

Got a white chicken rice for me, sweet and sour pork for my cousin ana and sweet and sour fish for my mom. Too bad the sweet and sour fish has only 2 pieces of medium size fish.
