My first and only visit to the Netherlands was on a quick business trip in the middle of Summer 2005. Fortunately, my two day stay, which also included a daytrip to Rotterdam, allowed just enough time to quickly visit a few major attractions in Amsterdam. I found the Dutch to be extremely friendly, welcoming and always willing to help. Without exception, every person I talked to ended the conversation by wishing me a great stay in Amsterdam.
While I got to see some of the city's attraction, I felt rushed and unable to immerse myself in Amsterdam's life and culture. For this reason (and the fact that it was cold and rainy in mid-summer) I plan to make it back to this beautiful and peaceful city one day again. |

I hope you can have a longer (and drier) return visit to Amsterdam sometime. I rented a bicycle when I was there and had a great time riding all around. |
