Málaga is one of the largest cities along the Andalusian coast and one of the longest inhabited in Iberia, tracing its roots back to its founders, the Phoenicians. Roman heritage is also evident in the city, but the most prominent historic landmarks are in fact from Moorish times, namely Alcazaba. The city flourished under the Moors as it was the main port to Granada. |
On the way to Córdoba from Granada, my travel companion and I decided to take the scenic route and drive down to Málaga for an afternoon. We had about enough time to visit Alcazaba and the Roman amphitheatre, and to catch a glimpse of the blue Mediterranean, before heading north to Córdoba. |
