The only survivors of the seven wonders of the ancient world were thus ancient to the ancient world. Over 4500 years after their construction, they continue to mesmerise us with their ingenuity and size. They were built to last and will likely outlast any structure of the modern age. Every person should visit the Pyramids at least once in their lifetime, for it is not until one is in front of them that one appreciates their greatness.

The Pyramids of Giza are located about 20 minutes south-west of the great city of Cairo. An afternoon or a morning at the pyramids should be on any traveller's itinerary when visiting Cairo.
