Mougins Travel Guide: 15 reviews and 36 photos

Four things wholly describe Mougins: mediaeval charm, art galleries, good restaurants, and tranquility. The tiny hilltop village lies just above Cannes only a 15 minute drive from the shores of the azure Mediterranean, yet it has maintained its centuries-old architecture and mediaeval character. The largely unknown village came to light when Pablo Picasso moved to Mougins. It is here that Picasso spent his final days and at his Mougins atelier that he completed his last paintings, thus eternalising the village's association with the world of art. In recent decades, Mougins benefited from the influx of tourists to the region and numerous art galleries and restaurants opened up making it a destination for many along the Côte d'Azur.

Mougins is a perfect place to spend an evening. Make a reservation at one of its renowned restaurants and arrive early for a stroll around its art galleries, antique shops and enjoy panoramic views extending from mountains to sea.

What a lovely little village! Mougins sounds to be a nice place to spend an afternoon and evening in.

Beautiful scenery and architecture, so typically French. Lovely!
