The public transportation system in Gothenburg is well developed and well integrated. If you are planning to cross the Göta River in your trips out and about, you can plan your trip so you cross the river with Älvsnabben, the ferry boat criss-crossing the part of the river close to the city centre. It is part of the public transportation system, so you can use the same ticket as for the trams and buses. But it's definitely more fun! :)
With the Göteborg Pass, you travel for free on the public transport.
