The Delights of Snow & Darkness

I love Tallinn in winter when the cruise ships and stag parties have departed. Cosseted in the embrace of deep snow the old town is like something from a fairy tale. Late at night the cobbled streets are quite deserted. Lit by the flickering of tiny oil lamps placed on the steps of houses and shops. This is a great time to curl up and read some Estonian folklore in front of a roaring fire.

VT's of the bird world

In winter snow geese and other birds huddle together for warmth off the Gulf of Finland. I think of these Geese as the VT's of bird world!

A Different Perspective

Snow always makes roof tops a delight to see. This was taken from one of the many vantage points in the old town.

Visiting during Christmas time is nice for the markets as well for the decoration! Navitrolla seems an interesting artist - loved his pictures found on the web :)
