The Delights of Snow & Darkness I love Tallinn in winter when the cruise ships and stag parties have departed. Cosseted in the embrace of deep snow the old town is like something from a fairy tale. Late at night the cobbled streets are quite deserted. Lit by the flickering of tiny oil lamps placed on the steps of houses and shops. This is a great time to curl up and read some Estonian folklore in front of a roaring fire. |
