I always wanted to visit Wales, tales of the dramatic scenery and celtic origings seemed interesting to me. However the one visit really was enough! maybe more suited to hikers and walkers? But we did take the dog and struggled to find anywhere to walk him. Hmmm....

It is a good base to stay if you want to explore North Wales, though you have to be prepared to drive to everywhere! Local amenities appeared great when we first drove through, a few nice looking local pubs and eateries, some shops etc etc. How wrong we were! The local pubs are all full of smoke (I'm a smoker myself and it was too much) and the whole place seemed to be stuck back in the 1980s. Nothing to do on an evening apart from have a meal out, we ended up watching TV and playing board games most evenings. Plus there was some awful kind of insect infestation, these crawly little things were everywhere and got into your hair where you could hardly get them out. It was horrible. Lovely scenery though!
