Much has been written about St. Helena. Most of it is true - even the bits you thought were exaggerated. But until you come and visit you will not believe that. And if, like me, you are lucky enough to be able to live here too, you are one of the luckiest individuals on the planet.

OK, there are no department stores; cinemas; art galleries; opera houses and fancy restaurants. What we do have includes year-round good weather, negligible crime, and the friendliest and warmest welcome you could ask for.

But, as I wrote above, you will find that hard to believe until you come here and see it for yourself.
