Left out on the street because our reserved hotel was closed, we proceeded to look for a room for the night in the Old Quarter for an hour without any luck. Finally, we decided to try the Melia, but the reception informed us that the hotel was fully booked. However, the reception at Melia went out of their way to call the Horison and get us a room there. At 3am, tired and beat from a 4 hour flight delay and walking the city streets for an hour with our luggage in tow, we pulled into the driveway of the Horison.
The Horison is a great place to stay, albeit far more expensive than we had originally planned to spend for a hotel room in Hanoi. They even gave us an upgraded room and a 3pm checkout.
The room is what you would expect of a 4 star business hotel. Robes, slippers, welcome fruit basket, in-room safe, etc. The breakfast buffet was complete with an omelet bar and a good selection of desserts.
The staff is very helpful and responsive.
