Doylelstown is referred to by locals as the County Seat of Bucks County, PA. If you are looking to spend a day or two in a historically beautiful town full of boutique shops and an eclectic mix of fine restaurants and cafes then Doylestown will not dissapoint. Filled with art galleries, small movie theater, and home to The Mercer Museum and James Mitchener Museum there is surely something for everyone. There are limited accomodations available in the heart of the town, however, the surrounding area provides a fair amount of B&B and Inn accomodations. Don't expect to find a hotel chain in close proximity. This is not a resort town but one of small business and country accomodations. If pampering is your gig, the are offers many spa establishments to choose from.
Venture out of the county seat just a few short miles and visit Peddler's Village boasting its 65 Boutique Stores, Golden Plough Inn & Restaurant, Skin & Tonic Spa and the recently opened Earl's Steak & Seafood ($$$$) for high-style dinner date.
note: Doylestown is a great destination for a romantic weekend getaway, but not one i would recommend for families with small children during the winter and early spring months.
