Sabah- From the local to you..

by denna - last update: Sep 20, 2007

Some facts..

taken from the vehicle i was travelling in
Sabah is a Malaysian state located on the northern portion of the island of Borneo. It is the second largest state in Malaysia after the state of Sarawak which it borders with on its south-west. It also borders with the province of East Kalimantan of Indonesia in the south.Sabah was known as the "Land Below The Wind" because it lies below the typhoon belt. Sabah's terrain is rugged, with Mt. Kinabalu, at 4,101 metres, dominating the surrounding landscape. It has a wide diversity of flora and fauna, as well as one of the world's largest rainforests. Sabah's people comprise 31 different indigenous groups, including the Kadazans, Muruts, Bajaus, Bisaya, and Rungus.

International access to Malaysia'a eastern gateway is through Sabah's capital, Kota Kinabalu, which receives flights from Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru, Kuching, Singapore, Hong Kong, Manila, Brunei, Jakarta, Seoul, and Taipei through its International Airport which is undergoing a massive extension.Terminal 2 is house for the Malaysia famous budget airline, AIRASIA. You can travel to countries like The philipines, Thailand and Macau from here but AIRASIA is busy adding a new destination every year. Domestic travel in this vast state is via daily flights between Labuan, Sandakan, Lahad Datu, and Tawau, though large areas are still inaccessible. A rail network stretches from Kota Kinabalu to Tenom. Buses, taxis, and boats are available.

For many visitors, the primary attractions of Sabah are its outstanding national parks, which include Kinabalu National Park, the Crocker Range Park, and the Sepilok Orang Utan Sanctuary. Others come to enjoy the islands of Tunku Abdul Rahman National Park and the diver's paradise of Pulau Sipadan. However, Sabah possesses a number of other attractions as well, all of which are worth exploring.Sabah is heaven for nature lovers..

The Perfect Sunset

KK has one of the best sunset in the world and that i cannot agree more. come to kk and see for yourself. You can enjoy this view from any of the beach around kk area. You will have a good view if you are staying in Tg. Aru Shangrilla Beach Hotel or Pan Pacific Sutera Habour Hotel and Marina Club.

Taken in front of Magellan Sutera Habour-the Marina Club. iOne can spend endless time sitting watching the sunset from here. Just love iT!! best time to watch between 6-7pm

The beach

Sabah has many beaches and all look awesome. might not be the cleanest beach on earth but we are blessed to live near the sea and enjoy the beauty of it

This is just a small shot of what sabah has to offer. this is not a tourist area- along highway of lok kawi and kimanis. still awesome!!!
