what a poor self centered place carmarthen is when I lived there a workmate of mine [who is welsh] was beaten up in a pub because he could not speak welsh

you will loose count of the number of times you get ignored because you do not speak welsh ,and those that do sound like... more travel advice

not many good places to eat ,a few chip shops {that might explain the shape of the locals} the local well to do people... more travel advice

not a lot to do here,suppose you could sit and watch the locals get drunk and try to kill each other on a friday night... more travel advice

Sorry you had such limited interest in and negative impressions of this lovely old town. As an English woman living in Wales for over 50 years and a frequent visitor to Carmarthen I have had only positive encounters.Yours seems a one-off experience .
