This is the only hotel under $100 in the valley. Ofcourse there are only about three in the entire area but the disparity show's how precious this little hotel's existence is. For those tourist who stay the night, most don't, the Rancho Maria Teresa can be the biggest surprise of your tour.
The valley is showpiece for the Mexican wine industries with visitors flocking here to sample the vino. Wine in this valley is like slot machines in Nevada, it's available everywhere for the sampling. Rancho Maria Teresa is no different offering its own brand.
This is still a working ranch with an orange orchard and winery. The hotel idea came just three years ago. The emphasis on landscaping with the abundance of orange trees, palms and bougenvilla harken back to its rancho roots.
Unique Qualities: There are 14 quaint rooms of singles and doubles in a two story building. There is no television which keeps guests outdoor oriented instead of hybernating inside. The rooms have cut stone flooring and cathedral ceilings and fan.
I counted over a dozen picnic tables surrounding two large pools and a jacuzzi. I found a restful isolated nook to watch the sun ever-so-slowly drop out of the sky. There are plenty of staff around as the landscaping never ends.
If you can't get someone on the phone try emailing. Reservations recommended especially in the summertime.
The hotel is connected by path to the Los Naranjos restaurant serving up three meals a day plus wine tasting.
