"A vibrant friendly City" Marseille by scanos

I arrived from Cassis by bus which terminated near the Castellane metro station on Avenue de Prado and walked to my hotel near Place Prefecture. I had heard that Marseille was a dangerous city but this was not my experience. The people are friendly and helpful. There was a lot to do and see and my only problem was how to fit in everything.

I was lucky enough to be in Marseille for the above tournament, held on the main beach. Interestingly, Eric Cantona was manager of the French team and Diego Junior Maradona represented Italy. The tournament was held on the main beach in Marseille soem 5 miles , 8 km from the city centre but easily accessible through public transport or Le Velo

I bought a weekly ticket for Le velo which cost 1 euro. This meant that I was able to travel freely across Marseille using this wonderful system. Unlike the Lyon system, it is open to tourists which adds to its huge popularity.
