Composition of Selangor

Selangor or Selangor Darul Ehsan (with added Arabic honorific) is one the 13 states of Malaysia. It is located on the West Coast of West Malaysia. It is near to the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, the capital city of Malaysia, as such Selangor has its share of limelight.

Selangor's state capital is Shah Alam (that's where i am staying) and the royal capital is Klang (or Kelang in our national language). Besides these two cities (Shah Alam was awarded the status of a satelite city), there is another popular city call Petaling Jaya (or PJ for short). Subang Jaya, a residential area falls under the territory of Petaling Jaya. Selangor is part of the conurbation of the area termed as "Klang Valley" which includes Kuala Lumpur. Klang Valley has the largest immigrants from all over states in Malaysia. Come any festive period where there's a long holiday, Klang Valley is most quiet and peaceful as most would have taken the opportunity to go back to their home town (in Malay, it's known as "balik kampung")

Nice tips of FRIM. Leeches... yikes. Had too many bites from Taman Negara.
