Mazsalaca is probably the most beautiful of Latvian small towns. There is little interesting in the town itself, but there is Skanakalna dabas parks - Nature Park of Skanaiskalns outside the town with some very beautiful sandstone rocks and caves along the Salaca river.

It is definitely off the beaten track for foreign travelers or tourists, but among Latvian travelers this park is quite popular.
