Wait... I'm not ready yet November 21, 2005. Today, I'll visit Playa Avellana, south of Tamarindo...The roads SUCK!!! and the whole "Indiana Jones" feeling I was experiencing at the beginning is fading quick...The beach is beautiful... filled with incredible shells with all sorts of colors. my camera in hand I spot the most adorable little girl and her dog playing on the beach under the watchful eyes of her Dad... After asking permission to take pictures of her, I get ready to click when she says...Espera (wait) and dons a seashell over her eye...Trip to CR..pretty good deal...plate of Arroz con camarones...out of this world...smile of a 4 year old with her dog...PRICELESS |
Third World Cafe around 6:30 pm Heather and I took this picture from the Third Wold Cafe counter . We had spent another day exploring and were looking to just relax at the bar. After Heather returned to her hotel, a few glasses of vino tinto later, I just sat there, listening to Alejandro Sanz on my iPod and just staring at one of the most beautiful sunsets I had ever seen... I felt so lucky... |
Nicos v. Ticos Last dinner with Martin who came down from Nicaragua to visit me almost ended up badly. I had not realized that the tension between Nicaragua (who claims that Guanacaste province really belongs to them) and Costa Rica was real. When the waiters realized that Martin was from Nicaragua, they treated him very differently, altogether ignoring him. We were to meet at the restaurant, and since I was a few minutes late, they would not allow him in the restaurant on his own... Thank goodness for the "chill factor" of Surfer Dude Martin who chose to let it go and just enjoy the evening.... All in all a wonderful time with Surfer Boy! |
