Munich

Munich,Old Capital of Bavaria

In 1800 Bavaria ,between enemies powers of Austria and France was struggling with it's existence. The alliance with Napolean Bonaparte by King Max I set her to kingom status on New year's day 1806.The King's daugher Auguste Amalie was wedded to Napolean's step son Eugene Beauharnais. Thus the new monarchy, with the King as head of state and the ministers forming the government transformed Bavaria into a modern state.
Munich is an interesting city with strong characters, rich in culture and history.Home of famous artists, museums and churches .Being there for a few days we merely scratched it's surface.
I was told that 2 of the 'must visit' museums are German Hunting & Fishing Museum,Dt.Jagd-und Fischereimuseum and 0.Deutsches Museum(1925).The later is the world's largest science museum of its kind.Thousands of original instruments, models, reproductions and a 19th century coal mine on an area of 430,000 sq.ft.Unfortunately ,due to the lack of time i have to put these 2 places on my next visit list.

Victory Arch

Exit U Bahn Station,Universitat,on Ludwigstr you will see this monument in honour of the Bavarian Army.Walking down the street on the left,Veterinar Str (before the Arch) you will reach Englischer Garten,a huge park.
Neues Rathaus

The Centre of Town ,Marien Platz

This is the New Town Hall in Neo Gothic Style Building.Looks old to me and the Old Town Hall next to it ,looks newer???Rather confusing.
