Restaurant Name: Hard Rock Cafe

I'd have to agree with anyone who thinks that the Hard Rock Cafe is a tourist trap. Nevertheless, for a tourist trap I know that they always have nice, big cocktails and American food. It was next to my hotel and on the canal so I walked in since I don't know where else to eat. The restaurant is quite big, and I took a table near the glass wall where I could enjoy my Long Beach Ice Tea as I watch the boats cruising along the canal. The food is also well prepared and the service is great (thanks TJ!) and the prices are expected for the HRC but also expect big, hearty portions. The usual HRC menu also applies e.g fajitas, wings, jumbo burgers & loads of cocktails. Also, you can expect great music and atmostphere in this place

Restaurant Name: La Pampa Argentinian Restaurant

I found this restaurant after walking around the Dam Square, tired and cold. To be honest, what attracted me to enter into the restaurant was the special menu prices which offered steaks, ribs and other dishes for around 15 euros. Can't beat that. I had a nice black pepper steak which was grilled to perfection, plus fries and salad on the side. Total meal with 2 glasses of wine was under 20 euros. The restaurant has an elegant yet informal Argentinian ambiance. Besides good steaks La Pampa offers a variety of fish and seafood dishes, great salads and delicious homemade rolls.

Restaurant Name: Chinese Restaurants/Dim Sum

My first meal in Amsterdam was at the Dim Sum Palace in Leidseplein. Ironic, isn't it? Anyway, it's located in Leidseplein area along the the tram line. They serve a variety of dim sum (of course) and other chinese dishes e.g fried rice, noodles, vegetable & meat dishes in hearty portions. I quite like it although I found it to be pricey but since it's in Amsterdam, I suppose it's expected. The service is friendly and good, you needn't wait long for a nice hot meal. On the minus side, the restaurant is a little old looking and not as clean as I'd like for it to be
