Gamlitz was one of the towns I visited as part of my road trip along the Austrian wine roads. A great number of vineyards line this route close to the Austria-Italian border. The wine sorts most frequently grown in this region are Weissburgunder, Muskateller, Traminer and Schilcher. Another favourite of mine is the delicious local speciality, the typically flavoured pumpkin-seed oil which I like to toss into my pumpkin soup. For your info, pumpkin is only available during autumn. I'd sure like to come here again because the scenery is beautiful and food & drink are fantastic |
