My first trip to Vienna was in 2001, and left just a day after Sep 11. It was also my first trip to Europe and I was completely amazed by it. I did not speak a single Austrian word and was left to my own devices as I explored this beautiful city. Vienna is not difficult to experience, just carry a map and some Euros. People ask me what's in Vienna besides museums and parks. I can't simply answer in a sentence or a paragraph, you have to experience it yourself

I'll admit, the first time I arrived here, I did not like the food but after a while I discovered places & found that Austria has some of the memorable dishes I've come across. The coffee and wine is without a doubt are up there in my list of the best, and the pastries are to die for.
Vienna is famous for the Waltz and when you around the city, you will find their images, from memorabilia to monuments, dedicated to them. I've been to Vienna countless times but have never finished exploring the city.
- Pros:It's beautiful and full of history
- Cons:Quite expensive and people don't really speak english
- In a nutshell:There's always something new to discover

Good morning Valerie, just back from Germany and Volksfest in Stuttgart..trust all is well...Karl
I was playing a game with my mom, looking for a "monument" (search and find game). I clicked on asparagus: she said that there is no such thing as an asparagus monument. I bet her that there was. I found this page, and she had to give me a dollar!
Good page!, I've recently visited this beautiful city
enjoyed your page of one of my favourite cities. good tips and photos
Thanks for the tips - I'm heading to Vienna this summer for the first time and am looking forward to it!
I need help to find a nice souvenir of the famous painting "The Kiss" to give as a present to my husband something original and special that I can buy by mail and delivered to me abroad. my email is olviafikry@yahoo.com
At the Sacher hotel you pay also for a minimum "coverage" charge. That is how the upscale european hotels "protect" themselves from bargain haunting "crowds". For the original Sacher torte you go to the konditorei "Demel" on the Kohlmarkt street. Euro 5.
nice to see my hometown through your eyes ! I agree : skip the Mozart-people and their overpriced concerts...
Lovely page on Vienna, it's a city I'd love to visit. The 1516 Brewing Company sounds like a great place - I'd like to try that home brew.
You must have an enjoyable time in Vienna! Im hoping to visit next year and have started reading up already :)
