Restaurant Name: Caffe Greco

Walking along the high street in Rome, near the Spanish Steps, Caffe Greco has been a popular coffee place since 1760. Stendhal, Goethe, Keats, and D'Annunzio have sipped coffee here, so did I. It's a pricey coffee joint but if you still want to try but don't want to fork out 6 Euro for a cup, have coffee at the bar and it will set you just under 2 Euro

Favorite Dish: Coffee and tiramisu, of course

Restaurant Name: Most Coffee Places

When you are in a cafe and order a coffee, the bartender will ask you "standing" or "sitting". You may find it strange the first time, like I did but the difference could cost you extra Euros. So, if you want a quick coffee, opt for standing where you stand by the bar and have an expresso or any coffee because it will cost you half than if you were to sit and enjoy the ambiance of an Italian coffeehouse.

Restaurant Name: Most local restaurants in Rome

Everytime I go to a local restaurant in Rome, I always order a carafe of red wine. Not only is it good but it's also quite cheap (imagine US$10 for a litre of good house wine). So don't miss it!!

Restaurant Name: La Gallina Bianca

After arriving in Rome, we went looking for a bite to eat before we board our train to Florence. After walking around for a bit, we found this restaurant, "La Gallina Bianca" or "The White Chicken" in the corner and the menu looked pretty good (we didn't want to go into a restaurant with tourists in it)

When we arrived there was no one else in it. I suppose the restaurant's theme has something to do with cows because there were drawings of cows& chicken on the walls. The service was fast & friendly (a little too friendly if you ask me) and the menu had the standard items you would find in an Italian restaurant : pasta, pizza, grilled meats

Not long after that, the restaurant filled up with Italians which was a good sign. The meal was standard price and we paid like 20 euros per person (complete meal with wine, coffee & dessert)
