The moment I landed at Coolangatta, I was welcomed with bright sunny skies and warm weather, despite arriving here in March. From the balcony of my hotel, the beach stretched further than I could see.
The Gold Coast is famous for beautiful beaches & holiday resorts that stretches over 50km, and is about an hour from Brisbane. There are also a big casino and several major theme parks in the Gold Coast which makes this a favorite not only for adults but also families. Surfers Paradise is a popular precinct and is a commercial center, where many glitzy hotels, cafes, restaurants and nightspots are located.
Not far from the beaches lies the Hinterland where you can enjoy cooler temperatures of O'Reilly's and Tamborine Mountain. Spend a day or overnight to enjoy the rainforest or wine country.
- Pros:Something for everyone, singles, couples & families
- Cons:Expensive, noisy and bordering at sleazy at times
