Royal Mulu Resort: Luxury in the Jungle

My first trip to the infamous Mulu Caves involved lots of walking, humidity and chilling at this beautiful 3-star gem located by the riverbanks of Melinau River. You would appreciate a nice hot shower and a hot meal after the long walks to visit Deer Cave, Lang Cave, Clearwater Cave and watching the bats fly off the in the sunset. The hotel blends well with the local flora and doesn't appear as a typical concrete structure against the greeney around it. The rooms are built on wooden stilts (reminecent of tribal longhouses and connected to the lobby via a wooden walkway. An large aviary with exotic birds is situated amongst the rooms and you can take a walk in it but watch out for the droppings!
