Kuching city is not only the capital of Sarawak state but it also holds many historical sites that take you to back in the time of the White Rajah, the Brooke family. Here you can still find buildings and streets that dates back hundreds of years, from the old courthouse to the eclectic Carpenter Street.

Forget about eating at fast food restaurants or hotel cafes, a real foodie should venture out where the locals eat. Fresh seafood, Chinese noodles, jungle fruit, local cakes, the list goes on.

Just under an hour from the capital, you can visit the coastal area of Santubong where the legend of Putri Santubong, a princess who supposedly turned into a mountain. Bako National Park and other interesting towns are also within an hour away.
