It's Not Zurich, but...

Well, it was time for my youngest daughter's annual "Spring Break" trip. This is a trip that I take with my daughter every year since she lives with her mother and stepfather in Florida and because I have the ability to take her someplace she might not get to see or experience otherwise. Plus, the fact is I really look forward to and enjoy the time I get to spend with her, despite the fact that she now 17 and has all of the attitudes of a teenager of her age (I hate text messaging phones for teens).

I allow Elizabeth to pick where she wants to go on spring break and for the last 4 years she had chosen Zurich to visit. Unfortunately, everytime we have tried to get to Zurich we have have been "bumped off" our flights for one reason or another, so we have improvised over the years with back up plans to Hawaii, Japan, and Ireland. This year I was totally shocked when she decided on England instead of Zurich.

Who ever said "Getting there is Half the Fun" obviously never worked for an airline and has never flown "non-rev" or stand-by during spring break in Florida. It was suppose to be a simple trip...Sarasota Fl to Miami to London, that turned into a all day affair just to get out of Florida that started at 4AM. But the good news was that we got to England, took the undergound to our hotel in the Pimlico section of London, checked in and then went exploring.

We found that we could use Victoria Station as a launching point for our foreys into the English countryside. Victoria Station had many of the services we needed from shopping (it isn't Harrods) to tour services, which we used over the next couple of days as you will see in our Travel Pages of our tours to City of London, City of Bath, Stonehenge, and the Town of Windsor.

Hi Mark, Happy happy birthday. You're lucky to have a pretty daughter but she's much luckier because she has you as her dad. Imagine, she can go to places others can't do right away.
