Where do I Start?

by Lalsey - last update: Jun 10, 2009

Starting at the very beginning...

Well actually, to tell you the truth I’m not, as I doubt you really want to see pictures from my first overseas holiday in Majorca in c. 1987, or indeed pictures of family holidays in Aberystwyth c. 1980.

However at some point I do intend to put more information about some recent travels, and hope to use this to record ones to come.

They say there's no play like home....

I'm 35 this year (how is that possible, last time I wrote on here I was 32!) and work as a health service manager in Birmingham, England. Ever since I was 19 I've been mean to spend some time travelling, but for one reason or another life has thrown me another curve ball and I haven't had the opportunity to take a substantial amount of time out. However in 2006 I bit the bullet, resigned from my job and spent 6 monhts travelling through New Zealand, Australia and South East Asia.

So now I have run out of money. As Garth said, in Wayne's World (you can tell I'm a highly intellectual chick can't you) "Sometimes I wish I could boldly go where no man has gone before....but I'll probably stay in Aurora [Brum]". Having said that, as you can see from this picture, Birmingham can look pretty gorgeous during a storm!

G'Day from downunder Lyse & welcome to VT. Took me about 4 months after I joined VT before I wrote anything up so you are doing pretty well so far. Keep going so we can keep reading. Cheers!
