We stayed there for five nights during the peak Christmas season and we thought it was a great hotel. Fully occupied and yet they had no problems with overcrowding or lack of food during the breakfast. Both the famous Chiang Mai night market and the popular-for-seafood Anusarn market are located at its doorstep. The old cultural city is nearby. Most of the famous wats are within walking distance as is Tapae gate.
The service there is excellent. They are friendly and efficient. I called room service for a flask of hot water for just two nights in a row and after that, every night when we got back the lady who cleaned out the room in the afternoon would have placed a fresh flask of hot water on the dresser. Also, the adapter for Thailand's two-pin plug is available free for a returnable 100 Baht deposit.
Variety at the breakfast table is not so great but the spread is sufficient. There was fresh, pure tomato juice and home-made yoghurt. And every morning they serve a different Thai specialty.
Great hotel for its price. We paid USD180 for five nights (twin room), which is a very affordable price. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone and will stay there again if I revisit Chiang Mai.
Warning though, they don't have kettles in the room for you to boil water. And since Thailand's tap water is not drinkable, you only have the two complimentary bottles of water they provide daily.
