Ivo Andric wrote a novel The Bridge on the Drina, a cronicle of a small town Visegrad and in particular of the bridge over the river Drina in Bosnia. It is a vivid description of life during more than three centuries. The writer was awarded the Nobel Prize for this novel in 1961.

Beautifull Bosnian horses

These horses are very known in the Balkan. Bosnian horses are working horses, used to help local people at their work in the woods in the areas with no routes. They are very peacefull and don't need reach food.

The Piva lake in the afternoon

A trip with a bicycle around a lake on the river Piva. Fantastic colours of water. Length: 67 km, 950 m altitude.
Dangerous riding through 20 tunnels with the length from 200 to 800 m without any light. Using special system of riding a bike: looking just straight forward, far towards the end of a tunnel if there is any light and hoping there are no fallen rocks. Not a big problem for me but for my wife --very dangerous and stressfull experience for her. Some people cannot see anything in the dark and just become panic stricken.

Clear and cold water

On the bridge over the river Bojana. This is the end of the boarder river Bojana between Albania and Montenegro. You can see the Adriatic sea.
This day in July 2005, it was vera hot, about 40 degrees C. The Ada Bojana is a triangular shaped island, located between two branches of the river Bojana and the Adriatic sea.
